Once again, “Thuroe Maersk” was Ship of the Week at the Container Terminal of Leixões on the 37th week.
The distinction is, as usual, essentially due to the number of unit handled per call. However, the productivity reached at the cargo handling operations is also a considering factor.
In its most recent call at TCL, “Thuroe Maersk” handled 945 TEU, at an average rhythm of 57 containers per hour of effective work, which means a little bit more than a minute to handle each unit.
Thus, it’s not strange the ship from Maersk Line has only stayed 11 and a half hours at TCL, on the 11th September. It began the operations at 8:11 am and at 7:41 pm the las container was aboard and “Thuroe Maersk” ready to sail.
