It’s not the first time anymore “Thomas Maersk” stands out as the ship which more containers handled at the Leixões Container Terminal. But this time, on the 19th week, the ship from Maersk Line stood out also due to the productivity reached at the loading/discharging operations.
“Thomas Maersk” was at TCL on Saturday the 12th May. It began being operated at 8:16 am and at 11:42 pm it was already prepared to sail to the next port.
During that time, it handled 1,553 TEU. Which means at each hour of effective work 65 containers were discharged/loaded, in average. Less than a minute per container!

It was another demo of TCL’s operational capacity, which explains why more and more carriers prefer the Leixões Container Terminal to handle their cargo.
With all this, it’s needless to say “Thomas Maersk” was the Ship of the 19th week at TCL.
