TCL WINS CONTAINER TERMINAL OF FERROL

It’s official already. The Port authority of Ferrol-San Cibrao approved the concession of the new container terminal of the Porto Exterior de Ferrol to Ferrol Container Terminal, company detained at 100% by TCL. The accepted proposal forecasts an investment of 90 million Euros, with the new terminal being developed in two phases. On the first one, from 2012, the terminal will start with a six hectares area and a quay front of 500 meters, deep -20 meters. The forecast investment is 16 million Euros. The forecast movement is 50 thousand annual TEU. The second phase will start from 2015, when a connection to the rail system is expected. The expected capacity is about one and a half million TEU/year. The concession of the container terminal of Ferrol is for a period of 35 years. The quick decision of the Port authority of Ferrol-San Cibrao was justified by the quality of the proposal presented and by the prestige of TCL - Container Terminal of Leixões, SA.
