TCL PASSES ONE TEST MORE TO THE ANSWERING CAPACITY

The exponential increase of containers handled in October constituted one more serious test to the answering capacity of TCL, in the front of the quay as well as on the land side. Fortunately, they were both exceeded with distinction albeit the obvious embarrassments resulting from such a strong working peak. On the front of the quay, the net productivity of the ship was kept at a high level, about 33 movements/hour. An average figure which does not fear any comparison with the best international practices. Unusual was equally the back and forth of the trucks at TCL, in October. 28,693 were the trucks which discharged/loaded containers on yard. Still, the mean time of service was 28 minutes, only! With that, albeit the number of almost-bottlenecks, 44 minutes in average were enough for each truck to enter the port, handle its containers and cross again the unique gate!
