On the first quarter this year, TCL paid to APDL 4.28 million Euros by account of the concession of the Leixões Container Terminal. Regarding the corresponding period last year, TCL paid 16% more, due to the increase in container handling. With this performance, TCL strengthened its position as the port concessionaire which more rents pays to the State in Portugal. In fact, and according to the data unveiled by DGTF, on the first quarter of the year the rents paid by all the port concessionaires amounted to 16.25 million Euros, 4.8% above the amount realized on the first quarter of 2011. Which means TCL, on its own, paid more than 26% of the total of the rents of port concessionaires, in an universe of 32 concessions of different sizes and characteristics. To be noted, as well, that the amount paid by the concessions of the Port of Leixões was more than 6.9 million Euros, or around 43% of the total of the income of the concessions obtained by the port authorities on the mainland, between January and March.
