TCL HANDLED 460,000 TEU IN NINE MONTHS 2015-09-30 In the first nine months of 2015, the Leixões Container Terminal handled 459,767 TEU. By the end of September, TCL handled 288,488 containers. Compared to the same period last year, there was a decrease of 6%. A negative value, which is due mainly (if not exclusively...) to the decrease of trade with the Angolan market, with particular emphasis on the movement of empty containers in repositioning. In fact, the annual fall of 6%, representing though a break in the continuous growth trend of TCL also demonstrates its resilience and the capacity for attracting/fixing traffic to the point of flattening the breaking marks of the main destination market of exports through Leixões. In September, TCL handled 48,002 TEU, corresponding to 30,490 containers, which meant a drop of 12% compared to a corresponding month which was very strong. |
