Hanjin Shipping, United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), Cosco Container Lines (Coscon) and Compania Chile na de Navegacion Interoceanica (CCNI) will begin in March 2011 a new weekly maritime service between Europe and South America and vice-versa, designated Europe-South America Express Service (ESE). The new service will use 6 ships of 2,500 TEU of capacity: two from Hanjin, two from UASC and one form each of the remaining partners. The rotation of this service will be Rotterdam-Hamburg-Antwerp-Algeciras-Rio de Janeiro-Santos-Itajai-Santos-Salvador-Algeciras-Rotterdam. Leixões will be served with shifting in Algeciras, where the new service will call at the Container Terminal of Isla Verde (TTIA), in which the connection is assured by the regular service kept by X-Press Container Line. |
