LEIXÕES WITH A NEW RECORD UNTIL JULY

Between January and July, the port of Leixões handled 10.1 million tonnes, which is a new record for the first seven months of the year.

In comparison with the same period in 2012, the best so far, there has been an increase of about 300 tonnes, or 3%.

TCL is still predominant in the good performance of Leixões. The handling of containers exceeded the threshold of 350,000 TEU at the end of July (an increase of 4%) and the containerized cargo moved forward 2% to about 3.5 million tonnes.

The liquid bulk reached 4.6 million tonnes (3%), the solid bulk totaled 1.3 million tonnes (the same as a year ago), the break bulk cargo reached 566,000 tonnes (1%) and the ro-ro cargo got to 23,000 tons (more 171%).
