“Grande Cameroon”, from Grimaldi, will call at the Container Terminal of Leixões next week, in its inaugural trip between the north of Europe, Portugal and Angola. “Grande Cameroon” is the fifth of six twin-ships ordered by the Italian group specifically for this route and it is on the 9th. that its inaugural trip begins. With this additional investment, Grimaldi claims to have the most modern fleet and the one with more transport capacity, among all the ship-owners which operate the connections between Portugal and Angola. The service Portugal–Angola of Grimaldi calls regularly the Container Terminal of Leixões since December of last year. Despite the crisis which devastated the sector, the Grimaldi Group kept the fleet expansion plan in about 30 ships, in an investment of more than two thousand million euros. The Grimaldi Group is the world leader among the ro-ro ships’ operators, with a fleet of 140 units. |
