To operate a ship at an average rhythm of 80 movements/hour is not within reach of any operator. Nut TCL did it on the 43rd week. In cause was the operation of “Thomas Maersk”. Appealing partially to the simultaneous use of three cranes and, when possible, operating with the twin lift spreaders, made possible answering with an unprecedented efficiency in the qay front, regarding loading/discharging of containers. The operations began at9:16 pm on the 27th of October and ended at 10:02 am on the 29th. The net productivity reached 80 movements/hour. In total 2,250 TEU were handled. As the icing on the cake, “Thomas Maersk” managed to be the Ship of the 43rd week, due to the fact it was the one which more containers handled at TCL between the 22nd and the 28th of October. |
