COBELFRET REINFORCED ITS BET AT LEIXÕES
2014-04-03

The CLDN Cobelfret has just reinforced its commitment to Leixões service, substantially increasing the supply capacity of its weekly service to Rotterdam. The ro-ro ship "Catherine", now in operation, has a carrying capacity of 2,700 linear metres, a thousand metres further than the previous one "Adeline," which began rotating in November last year, since then as the result of an upgrade to the lo-lo service launched in early 2013.
With 183 metres long and 25.8 metres wide, "Catherine" is able to receive virtually all types of ro-ro cargo, including project cargo, and allows to load twice as much containers in double stack. At Leixões, the ships from CLDN/Cobelfret are operated by TCL Multipurpose Terminal. "Catherine" departures happens every Saturday.
Also an indicator of the greater involvement of the shipowner was the constitution of CLDN Cargo Portugal, which since last April 1 is the CLDN Cobelfret representative at Leixões.
