From now on, APDL’s site shows in real time information regarding the container’s circulation thru the Port of Leixões. The project “Follow Container” was developed in partnership by APDL and TCL (with the indispensable collaboration of the Customs) with the scope of, on the one hand, supply information to the market and enable the cargo flow, and on the other hand to strengthen the transparency mechanisms in Leixões and to make easy the evaluation by the customers. Disposing only of the container’s number, it is now possible to get practically all the information about the containers in port and also about the ones not yet arrived. Namely: • If the container is inside the port… …and is leaving by land, it is possible to know: What time it arrived to the port and which was the means of transport; ship from which it was discharged; date / hour of the discharge; parking place; if it already has customs clearance to leave; how long it has been in the port. • If the container is in the port… …and will leave by sea, it is possible to know: What time it arrived to the port and which was its means of transport; in which ship it will be loaded; expected or real time/hour of arrival of the ship; how long it has been in the port; time left to leave the port. • If the container is not yet in the port… …and will leave by sea (export) it is possible to know: The ship it will be loaded into; expected or real time/hour of loading; how much time left for loading; and in case the ship’s already in ort – date and hour of mooring. • If the container is not yet in the port… …and will leave by land (import) it is possible to know: The ship from which it will be discharged; expected date and hour of discharge; how much time left for discharging; if it is already clear by the Customs to leave the port; and in case the ship’s already in port – date and hour of mooring.
